About the role
- Write and maintain high-quality technical documentation for Gcore cloud, network, and security products
- Create clear, user-focused content that helps developers successfully adopt and use our services
- Review and edit documentation produced by other writers to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency
- Continuously improve documentation structure, navigation, and usability based on user feedback
- Lead and mentor a small team of technical writers, combining coaching with practical guidance
- Set clear priorities, distribute work, and ensure predictable delivery of documentation
- Establish and maintain documentation standards, tone of voice, and quality bar across the team
- Act as the main point of contact for documentation across product, engineering, QA, and support teams
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders to ensure documentation reflects real product behavior
- Embed documentation into product development and release processes
- Drive the adoption of AI-assisted workflows to improve documentation speed, coverage, and consistency
- Design and maintain pipelines that identify documentation needs from commits, code changes, and release notes
- Ensure documentation stays in sync with fast-moving product development cycles
- Build and evolve documentation-as-code workflows and automation
- Introduce automated checks for documentation completeness and quality
- Define and track metrics for documentation usage, effectiveness, and user engagement
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing for cloud services, APIs, or DevOps tools
- Experience leading or mentoring other writers, formally or informally
- Strong background in documentation-as-code workflows using Git, Markdown, and static site generators
- Hands-on experience with API documentation, OpenAPI or Swagger is a strong plus
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, compute, storage, networking, CDN, security
- Familiarity with developer workflows and common infrastructure tools
- Ability to quickly learn complex technical products and explain them clearly to different audiences
- Confidence working closely with engineers and product managers
- English C1+ with excellent written communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence without formal authority
- Structured, proactive approach to managing multiple documentation initiatives
- Comfortable balancing strategic improvements with day-to-day execution
