About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and evolve cloud standards aligned with Pearson and Terraform patterns codified for Architectural Fitness Agents (AFAs).
  • Expand the Terraform-based ecosystem on Azure and Kubernetes (AKS), including MiniPrem-style GPU workloads on AKS where applicable.
  • Align CI/CD and security with corporate expectations and strengthen AFA rules, skills and sub-agent components that generate or review infrastructure as code.
  • Deliverables are artifact-oriented: versioned content in Git, diagrams as code, architectural decision records, and machine-verifiable patterns, used with Cursor and Claude Code.
  • Produce ready-to-handover repository packages for the receiving teams, including deployment, upgrade and rollback views, RACI matrix and operational artifacts, and define readiness criteria together with the DevOps team.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Fluent English for interaction with global teams.
  • Experience with Cursor (agent mode, rules and skills) and Claude Code or similar agent-based tools for daily IaC and platform work, including the ability to create, test and deliver AFA artifacts (rules in .mdc, skills in Markdown and sub-agent prompts) for Terraform and platform tasks.
  • Strong experience with Terraform on Azure (providers, modules, workspaces or equivalent and state management) and deep knowledge of Azure, including AKS, virtual networks, managed identities, RBAC, Key Vault, Azure Monitor and subscription and resource group governance.
  • Solid experience with CI/CD, including corporate pipelines, gates, secret management in CI and secure promotion, as well as operation of Kubernetes platforms (node pools, upgrades, networking, labels/taints).
  • Strong Python skills for automation, CI integration and policy validations applied to squads' code (primarily Python), plus familiarity with other languages such as TypeScript, Go, .NET, Bash or similar in adjacent repositories and runtimes.
  • Preference for incremental improvements over full rewrites, delivering small, verifiable changes.
  • Collaborative technical leadership with architects, developers, security and DevOps, communicating via versioned artifacts, ADRs and rule updates compatible with agents.
  • Organization and ownership in managing standards consumed by other teams via AFAs.
  • Treat governance as a versioned product where rules and skills evolve in Git and are distributed via installation, not as one-off documents.
