About the role
- Define and conduct ongoing research and analysis in IT vendor management trends, governance, organization, skills, tools, transformation issues, and best and next practices.
- Advise clients on best practices regarding IT vendor management organization, operations, tools, and analytics.
- Perform research by reading, networking with clients, vendors, and analysts, evaluating and analyzing information and participating in research meetings.
- Create specified volumes of written research in fulfillment of our commitment to clients.
- Collaborate with other Gartner analyst teams including Legal and Compliance, Security, Supply Chain.
Requirements
- 12+ years’ experience in IT sourcing and vendor management leadership
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred
- Experience engaging and advising business stakeholders in strategic IT vendor management, governance, and risk management
- Experience developing and executing IT vendor risk management programs, policies, and processes
- Experience researching evolving risk domains for IT vendors, including responses to global trends, legal, and regulatory requirements
- Experience with IT vendor management performance metrics, resolution, and tools
- Strong market research and analytical skills
- The ability to think abstractly and strategically
- Strong, plain-spoken writing skills
- Strong internal/external presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
