About the role

  • Design, write, and maintain end-to-end (E2E) test scripts using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).
  • Focus specifically on the quirks and complexities of WordPress environments, including plugin compatibility, theme updates, and custom block validation.
  • Integrate Playwright tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure checks run on every pull request.
  • Perform manual checks when automation isn’t feasible or efficient.
  • Design, execute, and maintain API tests using Postman to validate backend services, integrations, and data flows supporting WordPress features.
  • Write clear, reproducible bug reports.
  • Regularly refactor tests to reduce flakiness.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in automated QA, with at least 1 year specifically using Playwright
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in manual web testing, including test case design and execution using TestRail, cross-browser and cross-device testing with BrowserStack, API testing with Postman, and functional, regression, and exploratory testing of web applications.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Strong WordPress knowledge; understanding the WP ecosystem (themes, plugins, hooks, database structure and the block editor/Gutenberg).
  • Solid understanding of Git (branching, pull requests, resolving conflicts).
