About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate and maintain lathe and milling machines, ensuring precise production by reviewing blueprints and taking accurate measurements.
  • Select appropriate machines, plan tasks, and monitor production making necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain a clean workstation, oversee multiple CNC machines, and handle complex tasks.
  • Monitor the machine or machines during a production run to ensure properly produced parts.
  • Inspect dimensions and features of the machined part while keeping the CNC machine running at an optimal pace for production requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to optimize machining processes.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1+ years of experience setting up and operating Turn-Mill in a manufacturing environment.
  • Problem-solving skills to detect issues in the creation process and find solutions to ensure the machinery creates the product provided in the engineering drawing.
  • Industry knowledge of lathe and milling systems.
  • Execute precise alignment measurements of all machine axes utilizing indicators and probes.
  • Highly developed attention to detail.
  • Highly developed concentration and precision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Light programming experience.
  • Proficient in manual machining, lathe operations, CNC saw operations, iron work, and other essential shop skills.
