About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors and emerging major donor prospects
  • Build personalized donor relationships through calls, handwritten notes, impact briefings, and event invitations
  • Develop and execute cultivation and solicitation plans in coordination with the Director of Individual Giving
  • Use research, evaluation findings, survey data, and program impact updates in donor conversations and stewardship
  • Identify donors with capacity and inclination to move into major-gifts relationships and structure upgrade pathways
  • Track donor activity, contact records, call notes, next steps, and gift dates in EveryAction
  • Own the strategy and execution of the one-to-many annual fund program
  • Design and deploy email appeals, cultivation sequences, and upgrade campaigns
  • Build and manage virtual community moments such as online briefings, research share-outs, and donor conversations
  • Track open rates, conversion rates, upgrade rates, and retention to refine the program
  • Provide timely and meaningful stewardship to portfolio donors
  • Write and send personalized acknowledgments, impact updates, and year-end communications
  • Apply entity-specific compliance requirements to donor communications and solicitations
  • Participate in portfolio reviews and contribute insights about donor patterns, opportunities, and risks
  • Complete timesheets every two weeks and perform other duties as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Three or more years of fundraising experience
  • Direct experience managing a donor portfolio and building relationships with mid-level or major donors
  • Experience with one-to-many fundraising programs, including digital appeals, cultivation sequences, and community-based donor engagement
  • Experience with EveryAction or a comparable CRM
  • Strong commitment to documentation discipline
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
  • Strong writing skills for personal, specific, impact-grounded donor communications
  • Relational orientation, genuine warmth, and ability to earn donor trust across giving levels and backgrounds
  • Ability to manage a portfolio and a fundraising program simultaneously
  • Strong organizational instincts and track record of following through
  • Genuine affinity for the mission and understanding of Galvanize’s cultural and political landscape
  • Ability to travel as needed for cultivation events, regional salons, and donor meetings
  • Familiarity with the compliance structure of a multi-entity organization is valued but non-essential
