About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive new partnerships with community-based organizations, charter networks, and small-to-mid-size school districts
- Own the higher-velocity, mid-market sales pipeline, typically involving $25K–$75K deals
- Run consultative discovery to diagnose staff capacity, instructor confidence, and curriculum gaps
- Create customized proposals showing how Galileo integrates with district and community systems
- Carry and execute against a new-business revenue target
- Close multi-stakeholder deals with education and finance decision-makers
- Align proposals with public education funding cycles including ELO-P, ASES, 21st CCLC, and Title I
- Self-source pipeline through outbound prospecting and qualify inbound leads and SDR referrals
- Map and target K-12 districts, charter management organizations, and CBOs in California and strategic expansion territories
- Represent GalileoX at afterschool, expanded learning, and SLED conferences and convenings
- Identify enterprise-scale opportunities and hand them off to executive sales leadership
- Complete onboarding and independently own end-to-end sales conversations within the first month
- Test pitch messaging, capture objection-handling insights, and document sales practices
- Extract lessons from customer interactions to improve the go-to-market approach
- Adapt sales approach to diverse educational stakeholders and regional markets
- Maintain accurate CRM data, stage hygiene, next steps, and close dates
- Forecast credibly, communicate pipeline risks, and document complex multi-site deals
- Visit camp locations from June through August to experience camp and support teams
- Support Galileo Learning’s mission of delivering out-of-school enrichment, expanded learning programs, curriculum, and instructional support
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–7 years of full-cycle, quota-carrying closing experience in customer-facing, revenue-driving sales roles
- Demonstrated track record of hitting sales targets
- Expertise selling within K-12 Education, SLED, charter networks, or community-based educational organizations
- Strong knowledge of public school system operations, district administrative structures, board approvals, RFPs, and public education funding streams
- Experience with ELO-P, ASES, 21st CCLC, and Title I funding programs
- Ability to self-source sales pipeline and manage high-velocity deal cycles measured in weeks
- Strong consultative selling skills, deep discovery, customer pain-point diagnosis, and early disqualification when fit is lacking
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and co-create sales processes
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to persuade diverse audiences and explain complex educational solutions simply
- Proficiency with CRM systems and use of pipeline data to manage priorities
- Alignment with Galileo’s mission and professional, welcoming, camp-inspired culture
- During onboarding, may be required to complete a TB screening, background checks, and state-mandated training
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 30 lbs
- Ability to operate a computer, including typing and reading
- Ability to see, hear, and speak nearby and at a distance
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle classroom supplies and operate equipment
- Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, and sitting
