About the role
- Lead proactive outreach to live events within Comic Con, Medieval Faire, LGBTQ+, and all pop culture–related industries across all GalaxyCon markets and surrounding areas.
- Develop and manage relationships with retail and community partners, including comic book stores, movie theaters, barcades, and fan groups, to promote GalaxyCon’s presence and offerings.
- Conduct ongoing research to identify, evaluate, and secure strategic partnerships that align with GalaxyCon’s brand, goals, and growth initiatives.
- Oversee the creation and posting of job openings for Brand Ambassadors in preparation for on-site activations.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for Brand Ambassadors, including screening, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding, ensuring a high-performing and enthusiastic team.
- Serve as a key point of communication between departments by sharing updates through emails, shared documents, and bi-weekly meetings to ensure alignment and execution.
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Graphics teams to conceptualize, design, and implement innovative booth layouts and visual assets that effectively represent the GalaxyCon brand.
- Travel to various event locations to oversee the setup, operation, and teardown of GalaxyCon booths throughout the duration of each event.
- Manage and maintain all GalaxyCon-branded materials, including iPads used for prizing and email data collection, ensuring equipment is organized, functional, and event-ready.
- Represent GalaxyCon on-site by engaging vendors and exhibitors, effectively communicating and “selling” the value of GalaxyCon services and events.
- Interact with attendees to support promotional activities, volunteer recruitment, and overall community engagement.
- Register attendees for contests and collect contact information to grow and maintain the GalaxyCon email database.
Requirements
- Proven experience in field marketing, event marketing, or event coordination, preferably in a leadership or management capacity.
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and lead initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
- A demonstrated passion for comic books, pop culture, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, cosplay, and related fandoms.
