About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the end-to-end monthly consolidation process for the group's entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Oversee the month-end close processes for corporate entities, maintaining a strict and efficient close calendar.
  • Perform rigorous analytical reviews on financial performance, delivering insightful variance analysis and commentary to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage geographic entity reporting requirements and support the implementation, monitoring, and documentation of the group's transfer pricing policies.
  • Take ownership of the accounting, intercompany transactions, and net asset tracking for Group Holding Companies and corporate entities.
  • Account for corporate reorganisations, legal entity changes, capital restructurings, and post-acquisition integrations across the group.
  • Lead the technical assessment and operational transition for accounting standard updates under FRS 102, specifically managing the transition and ongoing compliance for operating lease changes (in line with the convergence toward IFRS 16 principles).
  • Develop, maintain, and roll forward rolling group cash flow forecasts to provide clear visibility on short and long-term liquidity.
  • Monitor daily cash positions across group bank accounts, optimise working capital, and manage internal funding or currency requirements where necessary.
  • Act as a key finance super-user for Sage Intacct, ensuring the system is configured effectively to support multi-entity reporting, dimension tracking, and smooth month-end workflows.
  • Focus on the integration of automated invoice-processing tools, optimising purchase order workflows, and refining control testing to ensure efficient, paperless AP operations.
  • Drive improvements in the Accounts Receivable workflow, optimising billing cycles, automating payment collection matches, and ensuring robust aging analysis to improve working capital.
  • Actively identify, test, and implement AI-driven process improvements and software integrations to eliminate manual accounting tasks and reduce transaction cycle times.
  • Review group balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy, resolve complex discrepancies, and mitigate financial risk.
  • Regularly evaluate, design, and implement internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and streamline operations.
  • Manage group-wide tax compliance filings and reporting obligations.
  • Ensure full alignment with UK/Non UK statutory accounting regulations and filing requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external accountants and auditors, managing the preparation of year-end audit files and ensuring a smooth, efficient audit cycle.
  • Stay abreast of changing accounting standards and technical updates, assessing their impact on group financial practices and implementing required adjustments.
  • Manage and coordinate relationships with external accountants, tax advisors, and local service providers across our international regions, including Canada, Spain, the Philippines, and India.
  • Oversee and support the execution of global payroll across fortnightly and monthly timetables for the UK, USA, Philippines, India, Spain, Guernsey, Ireland, and Canada.
  • Ensure strict adherence to regional compliance requirements, ensuring statutory tax payments, pensions, and Social Security contributions are calculated accurately and paid on time across all jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Group Financial Accountant to ensure that all payroll-related balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled, clear, and accurate.
  • Provide an accurate, forward-looking view of payroll funding timings for all countries to directly support group cash forecasting workflows

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Fully ACA/ACCA qualified
  • Ability to leverage AI tools and financial automation platform capabilities to streamline workflows, enhance data analysis, and improve process efficiency.
  • Ability to communicate to different stakeholders in the business and manage external stakeholders where required.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to delivers common goals
  • Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage work load and organise work streams
  • Strong Excel Skills, basic (VLookup/Pivot Tables) are Essential.
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and ability to grasp technical accounting matters and apply to real time scenarios
  • Strong understanding of monthly consolidation processes and requirements
  • Strong understanding of key compliance and reporting requirements
  • Ability to grasp commercial aspects of the numbers.
  • Ability to work independently on projects and work through challenges to deliver an effective result.
  • Be able to summarise and deconstruct large volumes of data into an understandable form
  • Understanding of risk factors from a financial and operational perspective for the business.
