About the role
- Serve as inspection team leader or team member on routine bridge and ancillary structure inspections (including sign and lighting structures), primarily in Illinois
- Occasionally assist with inspections across the Midwest and Texas
- Develop detailed inspection reports and documentation
- Apply structural engineering principles to bridge inspection and design projects
- Perform load rating calculations and support design efforts
- Collaborate with team members to ensure quality and timely project delivery
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
- EIT certification required; PE preferred; SE highly desirable
- 2+ years of experience in bridge inspection and/or bridge design
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude, commitment to quality, and excellent work ethic
- Ability and willingness to travel for inspections
- Completion of NHI courses for Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges and Ancillary Highway Structures (preferred but not required)
