About the role

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers within assigned accounts and territory
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy aligned with division growth objectives
  • Identify, qualify, and drive new business opportunities through the full sales lifecycle
  • Provide technical sales support, including presentations, RFQ responses, and solution positioning
  • Translate customer application requirements into technical specifications and commercial proposals
  • Drive opportunities through G&H’s internal stage-gate process to successful closure
  • Partner with product management and engineering teams to align on market needs, pricing, and product positioning
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and technical stakeholders
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM to manage pipeline, track opportunities, and provide accurate forecasting
  • Represent G&H at customer meetings, industry events, and conferences
  • Support post-sales engagement to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term account growth

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in physics, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field
  • MBA or business qualification is a plus
  • Proven experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or product marketing within photonics or related industries
  • Strong understanding of relevant markets, including photonics, lasers, aerospace & defense, life sciences, and industrial applications
  • Knowledge of technologies such as optics, lasers, crystal optics, electro-optics, or acousto-optics
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex sales cycles and key accounts
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and business judgment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly
