Key responsibilities & impact
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of 10+ software engineers and engineering managers across multiple agile squads, fostering a culture of continuous learning, inclusivity, and high performance.

  • Partner closely with Product Management, Pharmacy Operations, Design, and QA to translate complex healthcare compliance and patient-care requirements into technical roadmaps and actionable sprints.
  • Champion engineering best practices that adhere to strict industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2), ensuring patient data security, secure messaging, and privacy are woven into the fabric of our codebase.
  • Establish and track key engineering metrics (e.g., DORA metrics, system uptime, bug resolution rates) to drive continuous improvement in engineering efficiency and pharmacy system reliability.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for critical system outages or security incidents, leading root-cause analyses and implementing preventive measures.
  • Manage departmental budgets, vendor relationships, and cloud infrastructure costs effectively to support sustainable scale.

  • Standard business hours; available for on-call escalations as needed.
  • Deep architectural understanding and proven experience deploying systems using AWS, PostgreSQL, Ruby on Rails, Python, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with collaboration and procurement tools (e.g., Slack, GSuite, Coupa, Jira).
  • Proven ability to build high-trust relationships, manage conflict, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders (e.g., clinical and operational leaders).
