About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design end-to-end AWS cloud architectures aligned with business, technical, security, and enterprise requirements
  • Lead DevOps strategy across infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, operations, and release management
  • Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK
  • Architect, deploy, and support containerized workloads running on Amazon EKS
  • Define Kubernetes request flows, service interactions, workload placement, networking, and scaling strategies
  • Select and implement Kubernetes autoscaling mechanisms for CPU-bound, memory-bound, and event-driven workloads
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployments, configuration management, and operational processes
  • Design highly available, fault-tolerant, and disaster-resilient AWS environments
  • Implement secure connectivity between applications, databases, and managed AWS services
  • Introduce passwordless and IAM-based authentication patterns where appropriate
  • Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, and incident-response practices
  • Apply AWS security best practices across identity management, networking, encryption, logging, and access control
  • Evaluate architecture alternatives and justify selected technical solutions
  • Optimize cloud environments for performance, reliability, security, operational efficiency, and cost
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, deployment, and production issues
  • Collaborate with development, security, architecture, and operations teams
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and best-practice guidance to engineering teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 8 years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or cloud architecture
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions on AWS
  • Deep practical knowledge of Kubernetes and production experience with Amazon EKS
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture and internal components
  • Practical knowledge of Pods and the pod lifecycle; Deployments and StatefulSets; Services and Ingress; ConfigMaps and Secrets; Kubernetes networking and request flow; resource requests and limits; scheduling and workload placement; health checks, readiness probes, and liveness probes; high availability and resilience
  • Strong knowledge of Horizontal Pod Autoscaler, Vertical Pod Autoscaler, and Cluster Autoscaler
  • Extensive experience with Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, AWS IAM, Amazon VPC, Amazon Route 53, Amazon EKS and ECS, AWS Lambda, Elastic Load Balancing, EC2 Auto Scaling, Amazon CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail, Amazon RDS and DynamoDB, and Amazon SQS and SNS
  • Ability to design complete AWS architectures and clearly explain architectural reasoning and trade-offs
  • Experience implementing secure application-to-database connectivity, including IAM-based or passwordless authentication where applicable
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
  • Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and release-automation processes
  • Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of AWS IAM, network security, encryption, secrets management, and least-privilege access
  • Solid Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
  • Good understanding of DNS, routing, firewalls, load balancing, TLS, and private connectivity
  • Scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership within cross-functional teams
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or a comparable AWS certification preferred
  • Experience with microservices and distributed systems preferred
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or similar observability platforms preferred
  • Experience with enterprise-scale, multi-account AWS environments, AWS Organizations, and landing zones preferred
  • Familiarity with AWS Control Tower preferred
  • Experience with Istio or Linkerd preferred
  • Exposure to regulated or compliance-driven enterprise environments preferred
  • Knowledge of security governance, cloud compliance, and infrastructure-control frameworks preferred
  • Experience with Argo CD or Flux preferred
