Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Electrical authority across grid connection works, utility-scale solar PV, BESS, and data centre power infrastructure, from development through commissioning and handover.
- Owns and delivers electrical design while ensuring all systems (generation, storage, demand) are designed, installed, tested, and energised safely, compliantly, and to Australian requirements, providing assurance and challenge across consultants and design partners.
- Strong preference for candidates with substantial HV experience.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5–10+ years of electrical engineering experience in power, utilities, renewables, or critical infrastructure; strong preference for substantial HV experience in the Australian market
- Proven design background, able to produce and own electrical designs, not only review others' work
- Strong infrastructure delivery experience across utility-scale solar, BESS, or grid-connected assets in Australia
- Deep understanding of electrical systems, substations, protection, and power distribution design (generation and demand)
- Working knowledge of Australian grid standards, including AEMO technical requirements, DNSP connection standards, the National Electricity Rules, and AS/NZS electrical standards, with the ability to interpret electrical studies
- Commissioning, testing, and energisation experience on HV infrastructure in the Australian context
- Critical eye for reviewing consultant and subcontractor designs; strong grasp of Australian safety frameworks including the Electricity Safety Act, state-based electrical licensing requirements, and relevant codes of practice
