About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the full-cycle payroll process for our multi-state workforce
- Ensure 100% accuracy in tax withholdings, deductions, and local filings
- Audit existing workflows to identify manual gaps and implement automated solutions
- Act as the primary point of contact for year-end reporting, workers' compensation audits, and 401(k) compliance
- Lead the day-to-day coordination of our benefits offerings
- Manage the annual open enrollment cycle
- Own the relationships with insurance carriers and brokers
- Maintain the integrity of our HRIS data
- Partner with the Director, Total Rewards for data-driven insights
- Support the 'preboarding' phase by coordinating administrative tasks
Requirements
What you’ll need- at least 2 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
- Deep understanding of US state and local payroll and tax regulations
- Advanced proficiency in HRIS platforms (e.g., UKG Pro or UKG Ready preferred)
- Ability to translate complex tax or benefits jargon into simple, empathetic language
