About the role

  • In this role you will take responsibility for designing our new products, with a strong focus on concept development and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • You will work closely with our Product Management team to develop product concepts tailored to the Funzy target audience.
  • Product ideas & trend analysis: You translate relevant trends and insights into new product ideas that fit the Funzy brand world.
  • Concept development: You create and refine concepts — from quick sketches to detailed 3D models.
  • End-to-end product development: You accompany prototype phases of new products from research to the final sample, ensuring design details and quality standards are considered throughout the sampling process.
  • Collaboration with suppliers: You work closely with suppliers to turn your concepts into production-ready solutions.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration: You collaborate in close sparring with Product Management and Marketing.

Requirements

  • Degree in Product, Industrial, or Furniture Design
  • Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in the lifestyle or interior sector, ideally with expertise in furniture
  • Initial experience with children's products is desirable
  • Strong sensitivity for color, tactility, material and form language
  • Very good understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and ideally experience with the influence of color, material and finish on manufacturability, scalability and cost
  • Confident use of 3D modeling and CAD visualizations
  • Experience in communication and coordination with international suppliers
  • Structured, pragmatic working style and enjoyment of quick decision-making in a D2C/e-commerce environment
  • Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
