About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Autonomously lead and manage projects and tasks from inception to completion with minimal guidance
  • Work collaboratively with construction professionals and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, and to budget
  • Manage projects of varied size and complexity, including preparation of project designs and specifications
  • Advise clients on procurement/contracts and act as contract administrator
  • Prepare tender documentation, tender reports, and client recommendations
  • Undertake contractor administrator or employer’s agent duties
  • Interpret drawings and designs, advise on technical details, and analyse designs against briefs and statutory requirements
  • Lead and undertake condition surveys and liaise with specialists
  • Carry out or manage measured surveys of existing buildings or sites
  • Undertake site inspections
  • Oversee Party Wall Matters, Acquisition and Condition Surveys, and Dilapidations
  • Keep Associate Directors informed of progress
  • Receive client instructions and agree fee proposals
  • Maintain technical understanding of buildings, construction, management, operations, and defects
  • Advise and report on building defects, maintenance, and repairs
  • Manage Planning, Listed Building Consent, and Building Control Approval processes
  • Work within the RIBA Plan of Works and oversee multidisciplinary project teams
  • Train and develop others
  • Take responsibility for health and safety under company procedures
  • Improve social and environmental impact
  • Perform other reasonable duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ideally Chartered accreditation, or working towards; chartership support is available
  • Previous experience and knowledge working within the construction industry in a similar discipline
  • Ability to deliver larger and more complex projects through the whole project lifecycle
  • Ability to delegate tasks and support team members
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior team members
  • Developing leadership and management skills
  • Ability to manage fees and assist with fee bids
  • Ability to generate new work through client relationship management
  • Ability to work independently to generate new business
  • Understanding of account management processes
  • Ability to analyse projects and report performance to a line manager
  • Excellent knowledge of CDM and construction health and safety
