About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee all technical aspects of Synapse product HL7 integration from installation, configuration, and validation through product go-live
  • Work with the MI Project Management team to deliver high-quality Synapse product solutions
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for MI HL7 implementation projects across Synapse product lines
  • Design end-to-end inbound, outbound, and bidirectional HL7 integration architectures
  • Perform enterprise-level data migrations, interface integration, and data conversion
  • Integrate Synapse MI products with third-party healthcare information systems
  • Design reusable integration patterns and templates
  • Develop secure end-to-end communication using TLS, VPNs, certificates, and encryption
  • Develop customer-specific solution designs, best-practice documentation, specifications, validation procedures, and test plans
  • Learn new Synapse and third-party products as they are released
  • Participate in the Subject Matter Expert program and cross-functional internal projects
  • Mentor, train, and transfer knowledge to peers
  • Lead projects independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and comply with quality, regulatory, FDA, ISO 13485, and other applicable requirements
  • Participate in pre-sale customer and sales discussions
  • Participate in peer review of test scripts and develop new HL7 integration processes and improvements
  • Supervise the work of others as requested
  • Travel occasionally, up to 25%, based on business need

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS, BE, or equivalent degree in a computer-related field, or AA with significant related-industry experience
  • Minimum of 6–8 years of HL7 integration experience in a hospital-related environment
  • Experience designing, implementing, validating, documenting, and executing complex technical projects
  • Expert understanding of information technologies in clinical environments
  • Experience with HL7 and DICOM standards
  • Experience with relational databases including Oracle and SQL Server
  • Ability to independently implement HL7 integrations with third-party vendors for one or more Fuji Synapse product lines
  • Strong knowledge of HL7 v2 including ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU, DFT, and MDM; DICOM, FHIR, and IHE profiles
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athena, Trubridge, Meditech, and Affinity
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Lua, JavaScript, Python, or similar
  • Knowledge of programming languages recommended
  • Hands-on experience with interface engines such as Iguana, Rhapsody, Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf, CorePoint, Ensemble, or similar
  • Experience in healthcare or hospital environments
  • Knowledge of radiology, dictation, cardiology, and electronic medical-record workflows
  • Experience with computer networks and high-performance computing systems
  • Familiarity with Windows client and server operating systems, MS Clustering, MS Message Queuing, MS Internet Information Server, and TCP/IP networking
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products, VMware, and remote access tools
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, decision-making, leadership, negotiation, prioritization, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, multitask, and work in a matrix environment
  • Expert knowledge of PACS and clinical information systems for cardiology, radiology, enterprise imaging, laboratory, pathology, VNA, and related workflows
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to peers and associates
  • Certification in HL7, CompTIA Security+, or Windows Network is a plus
  • Ability to sit 75–100% of applicable work time
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to manipulate items, including keyboards, up to 100% of applicable work time
  • Ability to stand, talk, and hear for 75% of applicable work time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds for up to 20% of applicable work time
  • Close vision at 20 inches or less
  • Occasional travel up to 25% may be required
