About the role

  • Strategically and operationally manage own top accounts (full-range retailers) for the product categories spices and delicatessen (branded and private label) and lead and develop a team as Group Key Account Manager in Sales/Retail
  • Provide personal account management as well as establish and expand all customers assigned from the transferred retail headquarters by leading and taking responsibility for negotiations on prices, terms and framework conditions and by assuming revenue and sales volume responsibility
  • Plan, control and analyze, e.g., by conducting budget and sales planning, customer management, and deriving relevant KPIs
  • Continuously analyze competitors' positions and assortments and derive concrete recommendations for action by monitoring and optimizing listings and building new business
  • Develop customer-specific annual targets, strategies and action plans and implement them with the customer

Requirements

  • Degree in economics or business administration (e.g., Economics, Business Administration) or comparable qualification, e.g., industrial clerk (Industriekaufmann/-frau) or equivalent vocational training
  • Operational experience and proven success in Key Account Management / Sales for branded or private label products in the FMCG sector with a focus on German retail headquarters, e.g., as Senior Key Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Manager, etc.
  • Experience in negotiation and closing annual agreements as well as detailed knowledge of customer-side structures and decision-making processes
  • Good understanding of market research results and the ability to translate them into customer-facing arguments
  • Fluent German and English, spoken and written, for communication with customers
