About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the portfolio of automation and integration programs supporting AGV/AMR deployment, material conveyance, robotics, controls integration, and smart factory initiatives across fab, weld, paint, and assembly
  • Establish standards for automation and integration projects, including controls architecture, data protocols, cybersecurity, safety interlocks, and validation criteria
  • Manage deployment of AGVs, AMRs, and automated material handling systems
  • Oversee integration of PLCs, robotics, SCADA, and HMI with ERP, MES, and WMS systems
  • Define and execute smart factory roadmaps connecting equipment, sensors, and automation systems to data platforms
  • Design secure, scalable IT/OT network architectures with IT/Business Technology
  • Lead vendor selection, procurement, installation, commissioning, and validation
  • Coordinate control system, PLC/SCADA programming, and change management standards
  • Ensure automation systems meet safety and quality requirements
  • Define and track automation KPIs and provide executive-level reporting
  • Lead and develop automation project managers, controls engineers, or integration specialists
  • Evaluate new automation hardware, software, AI/ML capabilities, and predictive maintenance tools
  • Support Design for Automation and Design for Manufacturability initiatives
  • Evaluate technology, vendor, and integration options using structured decision-making methods
  • Support Lean and continuous improvement through real-time production data and scenario analysis
  • Champion change management and training for operations teams
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required in engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing, computer science, controls engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, automation engineering, controls integration, or related field
  • Significant experience with AGVs, AMRs, robotics, conveyors, PLCs, SCADA, and HMI in production environments
  • Demonstrated experience integrating ERP, MES, WMS, or similar enterprise systems in manufacturing
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional programs spanning automation deployment, controls integration, and IT/OT convergence
  • Ability to travel 0–25%
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday between 7 am and 5 pm
  • Employment contingent upon successfully passing a background and drug test
