About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform mechanical design for power system products under supervision of an upper-level Engineer or Engineering Team Leader
  • Provide guidance to Level 1 and 2 Engineers and Designers
  • Convert prototype designs into commercially viable mechanical systems
  • Perform detailed calculations for system cooling requirements
  • Confer with internal and external customers about existing or potential product designs
  • Ensure designs comply with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
  • Inspect completed installations for conformance to design and equipment specifications
  • Compile data and write reports for engineering studies and projects
  • Contribute to technical manuals
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment
  • Guide layouts for mechanical construction projects
  • Conduct field surveys and study data to identify and correct mechanical system problems
  • Provide mechanical engineering leadership for complex projects with minimal team leader oversight
  • Participate in customer and project interviews
  • Train technical personnel in areas of expertise
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years of progressive engineering-related experience, or Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology and 9 years of progressive engineering-related experience
  • Travel requirement of 5–10%
  • Availability to work Monday–Friday between 7 AM and 5 PM, with flexibility to work any day or time to meet business needs
  • Ability to design mechanical systems for power system products
  • Knowledge of system cooling requirements and detailed engineering calculations
  • Ability to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
  • Experience using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment
  • Ability to conduct field surveys and diagnose mechanical system problems
  • Employment contingent upon successfully passing a background check and drug test
  • Work authorization verification through E-Verify
