About the role

  • Lead a cross-functional team to support projects from pursuit through sales, design, planning, manufacturing, construction support, commissioning, and turnover
  • Support and coordinate design and engineering sequences, including 3D/BIM coordination and detailing
  • Coordinate design activities with consultants, subcontractor partners and clients
  • Keep project leadership informed of open/unresolved design issues and track design and cost changes
  • Participate in meetings and presentations to present Preconstruction Services benefits
  • Utilize PSR, TIA, Roles & Responsibilities Tracker, Preconstruction Cost reports to monitor project progress and budgets
  • Oversee development of designs, cost estimates, and value engineering solutions
  • Act as single point of contact for Project Manager for all Preconstruction activities and provide guidance to project managers during design phase
  • Transition control of the project to the project manager during construction

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management
  • 10 years of electrical contracting experience or MEP coordination
  • Travel: 25% (primarily in the Texas area to jobsites)
  • Typical work hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday; work may be performed at any time to meet business needs
  • Experience coordinating design activities with consultants, subcontractor partners and clients
  • Experience with 3D/BIM coordination, detailing, scheduling and CAD
  • Familiarity with Excellerate manufacturing processes
  • Experience developing designs, cost estimates and value engineering solutions
  • Experience using project controls/tools such as Project Status Report (PSR), Task Item Analysis (TIA), Roles & Responsibilities Tracker, Preconstruction Cost reports
  • Ability to serve as single point of contact for preconstruction activities and transition projects to project managers
