About the role
- Create or improve upon products, systems and designs to make them safer and more efficient
- Examine manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, streamline production times, and minimize the use of resources
- Ensure compliance with safety policies
- Monitors operations with an eye toward improving productivity and efficiency
- Designs efficient production processes and workflows
- Reduces waste and addresses production issues
- Reviews production schedules, processes and specifications
- Implements controls to monitor costs and minimize production issues
- Works with other departments to develop design and production standards
Requirements
- BS in industrial engineering or related field such as manufacturing or mechanical engineering required
- 2-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing methods will be a key skill for this role
