About the role
- Designing and/or specifying mechanical and electro-mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Supporting the Design Engineering team in the design and qualification of mechanical components.
- Coordinating work with other individuals to meet project requirements, timelines, and goals.
- Understanding high-level requirements and creating detail-level requirements and designs.
- Reviewing technical drawings and mechanical specifications.
- Performing complex design calculations to ensure design compliance.
- Interacting with the Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Industrial Engineering staff.
- Supporting service, aftermarket, and installation teams as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering field
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- Working knowledge in 2D/3D CAD design software (Inventor, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo)
- Design experience with structural enclosures, mechanical assemblies, HVAC systems, mechanical piping, firefighting systems, and power generation
- Problem solving skills, root cause analysis, and corrective action experience
- Experience in Bill of Material creation and Change Notice processes.
