About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Guide and oversee all warehousing operations for the McAllen, Texas Distribution Center
  • Ensure shipping, inventory management, financial processes, WMS functionality, safety, personnel leadership, environmental compliance, and security
  • Drive continuous improvement across all functions while ensuring full adherence to Del Monte policies and procedures
  • Deliver superior service to internal and external customers, ensuring timely and accurate operations
  • Build strong cross functional relationships that support seamless execution across warehousing, quality, finance, and corporate teams
  • Work in conjunction with accounting groups to ensure financial goals are properly established and maintained
  • Create a balanced scorecard of metrics and establish routines to review performance with stakeholders
  • Serve as a servant style leader; actively supports employees through hands-on training, guidance, and development
  • Champion system adherence through proper coaching and active reinforcement of expectations
  • Oversight of warehouse safety programs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5-10 years of experience in Warehouse/Logistics Operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain related field, preferred
  • Experience in computerized warehouse management and transportation management systems.
  • Understanding financial/accounting principles and operational budgeting.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing annual operating plans (P&L).
  • Ability to empower the workforce and build strong teams through hiring, developing, evaluating, training, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Proven ability to define performance measures directly related to business and hold people accountable for such.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build direct relationships with hourly and salaried team members.
  • Excellent customer service focus and results oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills, including SAP; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bilingual Spanish, preferred
