Operations Manager
Fresh Del MonteOperations Manager developing strategies for labeling and shipping processes in food production. Reporting to Site Director and managing production and maintenance supervisors in operational excellence.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Developing, implementing, and driving strategies to improve overall labeling and shipping processes
- Increasing and sustaining equipment up-time while lowering repair costs, material inventory levels, and operational costs
- Reporting to the Site Director for safe, effective, and efficient use of all resources
- Defining, implementing, and managing systems, organizational structure, and processes to achieve expected overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Managing directly reports including production and maintenance supervisors
- Facilitating excellent environmental, health and safety programs
- Developing and controlling the production and maintenance budgets
- Tracking production and maintenance KPIs
- Analyzing operational data and equipment performance history
- Leading the reliability process to improve equipment uptime and reduce maintenance costs
- Reviewing inventory to maintain critical spares and automate materials requisition functions
- Supporting plant preventative maintenance program
- Ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management preferred, or equivalent work experience with minimum of 5-10 years experience in manufacturing/distribution positions required.
- Experience within a food manufacturing setting strongly preferred.
- Non-degreed candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of directly-related work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Plant Operations Management positions required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead Root Cause Analysis reviews.
- Must possess a demonstrated high degree of tact in dealing with both plant staff and maintenance personnel.
- Prior experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and WMS (Warehouse Management System).
- Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills required.
- Excellent administrative and analytical skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills required.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and priorities at one time.
- Strong PC-skills relating to spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs.
- Experience managing/coordinating a behavioral based safety process.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions and be self-directed.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative within general company guidelines.
- High degree of collaboration within team.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize key projects.
