About the role

  • Lead regulatory surveys and promote utilization of continuous quality improvement (CQI) principles, methods, and tools
  • Direct, investigate and resolve regulatory compliance concerns across facilities
  • Coordinate with Quality, Education and Operational management to improve regulatory compliance
  • Ensure facility compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations
  • Serve as regulatory expert and resource for clinical and operational teams
  • Provide education, guidance and recommendations to re-establish and maintain compliance
  • Conduct facility audits, exit conferences, mock surveys and emergent mock surveys
  • Guide development, implementation and monitoring of Plans of Correction (POCs) and improvement projects
  • Monitor, trend and analyze audit results; perform root cause analysis and recommend process changes
  • Educate on QAI Program tools and mentor facilities on performance improvement and tracking
  • Prepare and disseminate reports on audit findings and corrective/preventive actions
  • Foster relationships with state survey agencies, CMS regional offices, ESRD Networks and professional community
  • Travel approximately 50% to 80% and perform desk, computer and patient/facility interactions in healthcare environments

Requirements

  • RN license required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 5+ years' clinical management experience in dialysis, nephrology nursing or related external experience (state surveyor)
  • Experience in quality, risk management, case management, or infection control
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Good understanding of the relationship between providers of health care services and regulatory agencies
  • Good critical thinking skills and proven quality improvement experience
  • Preferred experience teaching/consulting and working within complex organizations
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% to 80%
