About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and drive a cohesive quality strategy across web and mobile, aligned with engineering and business goals
- Own quality outcomes across web and mobile, including reliability, defect rates, and release confidence
- Mentor and support our Test Automation engineers, drive alignment
- Provide technical leadership on quality across teams, guiding standards and best practices
- Drive a shift-left approach to quality, influencing design and development practices to prevent defects early
- Own quality within CI/CD pipelines, improving feedback loops, reliability, and developer experience
- Define pragmatic testing strategies, balancing speed, coverage, and long-term maintainability
- Identify and implement modern tooling and approaches, including AI-assisted testing, to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience operating at Staff level (or equivalent), driving technical strategy across multiple teams
- Strong background in test automation and quality engineering, including end-to-end testing, API testing and test strategy design.
- Hands-on experience with modern tooling (e.g. TypeScript, Playwright, Appium and equivalents)
- Experience improving CI/CD test infrastructure and integrating automated testing into pipelines
- Strong understanding of testing strategies and the testing pyramid
- Experience leading cross-team initiatives without direct line management
- Strong communicator, able to influence engineers, Tech Leads, and stakeholders
- Pragmatic and outcome-focused:
- Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable leading technical discussions and guiding engineers through ambiguity
- Experienced in providing team-wide technical leadership without formal management responsibilities
- Knowledge of code quality, system security, and modern software development lifecycle best practices.
