About the role
- Development and design of traffic engineering projects, preparing traffic studies, signal timing plans, operations analyses, microsimulation modeling, and preparing technical reports
- Preparing project plans and drawings for various projects including traffic signal design and intersection improvements
- Perform research, obtain traffic data for studies, prepare calculations, and conduct transportation analyses
- Preparing and collaborating technical activities on assigned projects and managing project budget and schedule
- Perform field work as directed by a senior engineer
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in civil or transportation engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas
- 3+ years of experience
- Basic experience using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, Synchro, VISSIM and TRANSCAD
- Familiar with concepts and standards of the MUTCD, HCM and AASHTO Geometric Design
- Ability to participate and collaborate within a project team setting
- Self-directed and ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight
- Solid time and budget management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Preferred: Knowledge of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applications and design
