About the role

  • Development and design of traffic engineering projects, preparing traffic studies, signal timing plans, operations analyses, microsimulation modeling, and preparing technical reports
  • Preparing project plans and drawings for various projects including traffic signal design and intersection improvements
  • Perform research, obtain traffic data for studies, prepare calculations, and conduct transportation analyses
  • Preparing and collaborating technical activities on assigned projects and managing project budget and schedule
  • Perform field work as directed by a senior engineer

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in civil or transportation engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Basic experience using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, Synchro, VISSIM and TRANSCAD
  • Familiar with concepts and standards of the MUTCD, HCM and AASHTO Geometric Design
  • Ability to participate and collaborate within a project team setting
  • Self-directed and ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight
  • Solid time and budget management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applications and design
