About the role
- Provide technical and operational leadership and support within the Integrated Remote Operations Center (IROC).
- Focus on operational, mine planning, and safety aspects of day-to-day operations.
- Ensure IROC activities align with safety standards, operational goals, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with site operations and technical departments.
- Support the development of standards and their consistent application.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams focused on fragmentation, geomechanics monitoring, production engineering, targeting, and fleet management.
- Champion the deployment of cutting-edge technologies to enhance remote mining operations.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends and drive performance improvements.
- Mentor and develop engineering and technical staff, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED + 11 years mining experience (including supervisory) OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field + 7 years mining experience (including supervisory) OR Master’s Degree in Mine Engineering or related Engineering discipline + 5 years mining experience (including supervisory)
- Strong knowledge of mining operations, including GMX monitoring, fragmentation, production engineering, and fleet management.
- Experience with remote operations technologies and integrated control systems.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and implement operational standards.
- Skilled in data analysis and performance monitoring.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory compliance in mining environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering/data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, AutoCAD).
