About the role
- Install, operates, and maintains environmental and emission monitoring instruments and testing equipment; analyzes data for compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate and assesses environmental risk and develops programs for risk reduction.
- Collaborate in recommending appropriate action to management in compliance with regulations.
- Review and/or prepares and maintains detailed records and files of environmental data and communications.
- Evaluate and administers contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
- Maintain basic working knowledge of national, regional and local environmental, occupational health, and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain knowledge of site environmental policies and procedures.
- May provide leadership to less experienced Engineers and Technicians.
- May serve as Project Manager or technical expert on small to medium-sized environmental projects (e.g., compliance, remediation, or reclamation).
- Lead or participate in regular audits and inspections of operations areas for purposes of ensuring compliance with site environmental policies, procedures and requirements of the Environmental Management System.
- Coordinate the timely recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets in compliance with applicable legal and other requirements.
- Track and reports the recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Earth Science or related natural science (such as Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Hydrology, Forestry, Agriculture, Meteorology, Environmental/Natural Resource Management) or Mathematics/Computer Science including Accounting and Finance, or, Business Management or other Bachelor’s degree, and at least three (3) years environmental or related experience, OR Master’s degree in a related field and at least one (1) year environmental or related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Agricultural, Mining, Metallurgical, Geological or similar) and at least three (3) years environmental or related experience, OR Master’s degree in Engineering in a related field and at least one (1) year environmental or related experience.
- Additional certification or licensure appropriate to the job may be required or preferred: (US Examples include: HAZWOPER, Method 9, DOT, EMS Auditor, Asbestos, Water Treatment Operator, or CHMM.)
- Knowledgeable in Arizona Water Quality programs and regulations including APP, SWPPP, and SPCC.
- Arizona certified Grade 2 Domestic Water Operator in both Distribution and Treatment.
- Project Management experience.
- Experience working with Operations and Maintenance personnel in industrial setting.
- Software proficient in Enablon, EQuIS, and Microsoft Office tools.
