About the role
- Management of the engineering design team in the New Orleans Project Office through planning, design, and execution phases of the portfolio of capital mining and metallurgical process facilities projects.
- Responsible for the overall delivery of all engineering deliverables to achieve the portfolio objectives (scope and quality) within the specified timeframes and budgets.
- Manage the engineering design team ensuring the consistent application of codes, standards, and best practices across the portfolio of projects.
- Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement through analyzing, developing, documenting, and implementing standards and best practices.
- Ensure projects have appropriate resources to meet objectives.
- Regularly appraise the structure of the engineering and design team for its ability to meet short and long-term project and portfolio level objectives and implement appropriate changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering or related field, and minimum 15 years experience with the practice, systems, processes and terminology of project and construction management, OR High School Diploma and 20 years experience with the practice, systems, processes and terminology of project and construction management.
- Experience managing a department of engineers and designers
- Experience in a capital project design office
- Experience with mining and metallurgy process facilities
