Requirements
- Candidates must be current practitioners with applied, real-world experience managing Communications Security (COMSEC) resources within enterprise, government, or regulated environments.
- Familiarity should align with one or more of the following areas:
- Managing COMSEC accounts, materials, and cryptographic resources
- Applying COMSEC policies, procedures, and directives (e.g., CNSSI, NIST, DoD guidance)
- Supporting secure communications for systems, networks, and operational environments
- Overseeing the lifecycle of cryptographic keys and COMSEC equipment
- Implementing and maintaining key management processes and controls
- Conducting risk assessments related to communications security
- Ensuring compliance with organizational, regulatory, and security requirements
- Coordinating with security, network, and operations teams to support secure communications
- Monitoring, documenting, and reporting COMSEC status, incidents, or discrepancies
- Understanding networking fundamentals, encryption concepts, and secure communication protocols.
