About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and oversee the organization’s QAPI program across multiple hospitals
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with CMS and Joint Commission standards
  • Monitor and analyze key quality indicators, including: Patient safety and clinical outcomes, Restraint and seclusion practices, Patient rights and medication safety
  • Drive performance improvement initiatives (PIPs) using proven methodologies (PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Lead Joint Commission readiness efforts, including mock surveys, tracers, and gap analyses
  • Oversee responses to surveys, RFIs, and accreditation requirements
  • Partner with leadership on: Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), Sentinel events and investigations, Risk reduction strategies
  • Develop and present quality dashboards and reports to executive leadership and governing bodies
  • Standardize quality processes, metrics, and reporting across all facilities
  • Provide education and coaching to leaders and teams on quality, compliance, and patient safety
  • Serve as the subject matter expert during surveys, audits, and regulatory reviews

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 5–7+ years of healthcare quality leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation and Joint Commission standards
  • Proven experience leading quality and patient safety programs in healthcare
  • Expertise in data analysis, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to influence and partner with executive and clinical leadership
  • Experience supporting multi-site or system-level operations preferred
  • Preferred: RN license
  • CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) certification
  • Behavioral health or inpatient psychiatric experience strongly preferred
