- Doctors are overworked, burnt out, and are quitting in masses; Freed combines clinician love with AI to create products that make clinicians happier
- First product: an AI scribe that automates medical documentation
- Since May 2023: acquired 20,000 paying clinicians; generated 70,000 patient notes daily and over 2 million monthly
- Backed by Sequoia Capital and other VCs; expanding product offering (patient-facing assistants, patient insights, EHR integrations)
- Office in San Francisco with a hybrid schedule (teams come together three days a week)
- Role: Lead design for core product areas, own end-to-end user experience, partner with engineering/product/design, and help evolve MVPs into polished, scalable products rooted in clinician needs
Requirements
- Lead design for core product areas — from problem framing to polished execution
- Collaborate cross-functionally with a small team of engineering, product, and design peers to shape product strategy and roadmap
- Bring the clinician voice into the room — through research, usability testing, and systems thinking — and advocate for their needs across product decisions
- Create intuitive, clean, and thoughtful UI that balances user needs with product complexity
- Work scrappily when needed, and raise the bar when it matters — sweat the details, but know how to move fast
- Help us evolve our design system and shape design culture
- Have 7+ years of experience designing and shipping high-impact end-to-end products
- Can navigate ambiguity and break down complex problems into simple, clear user experiences
- Are a strategic thinker who can contribute beyond design — to product and business direction
- You value clarity and precision in both your design and your communication
- You’re excited about the potential of AI and eager to explore new UX paradigms in AI-first products
- Thrive in early-stage, fast-moving teams
- Experience in healthcare is not required, but a passion for healthcare and helping others is a must.
