About the role
- You advise clients of the G3C in preparing technology projects in the areas of chip design and heterogeneous integration.
- Together with the G3C expert team, you conduct feasibility analyses, identify implementation partners and locate suitable infrastructure in the European pilot lines (in particular APECS).
- You also help companies without prior semiconductor expertise achieve product innovations using chip technologies.
- You raise visibility for G3C’s offerings through contributions at events (trade shows, association meetings, conferences) and build contacts with SMEs, startups, investors and other partners.
- You present G3C’s work and successes together with the PR team on social media and the G3C websites.
- You participate in meetings of the approx. 30 European competence centres at various locations across Europe, visit competence clusters in Germany and connect the G3C with the German chip-design ecosystem.
Requirements
- Degree in physics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, industrial engineering or a comparable qualification
- Background in microtechnology (e.g., CMOS, MEMS, photonics), chip design or systems engineering
- Several years of professional experience in your field, e.g., as a process engineer, chip designer or in the development of embedded hardware/software systems
- Ideally, experience with both research institutions and private-sector companies and contacts to key players in your field
- Willingness to travel for business, e.g., to trade-show appearances or events (occasionally on weekends) across Germany and Europe (travel share approx. 20%)
- Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written.

- Our office is located in the heart of Berlin at Hackescher Markt. By arrangement, another workplace (e.g., Duisburg, Dresden) is also possible, provided regular presence in Berlin (approx. twice per month) can be ensured.
- The weekly working time is 39 hours. The position can also be filled part-time. The position is initially limited to two years; an extension is intended.
- Employment, remuneration and social benefits are based on the Collective Agreement for the Public Service (TVöD). In addition, Fraunhofer may grant performance- and success-related variable remuneration components.
