About the role

  • Contract drafting: You prepare and review contracts for work and services, service agreements, general terms and conditions (GTC) and other contract types, particularly in the context of procurement and tendering, in German and English.
  • Contract negotiations: You coordinate and conduct contract negotiations with internal and external partners in German and English.
  • Legal advice: You advise our procurement staff on all legal questions related to public procurement law and prepare expert opinions as needed.
  • Legal enforcement: You review and support the enforcement of claims and post-contractual legal rights, e.g. warranty claims, delays in performance, non-performance or defective performance.
  • Coordination: You closely coordinate on contract- and procurement-law issues with the legal units of the Fraunhofer Central Administration.
  • Quality & innovation: You take responsibility for monitoring and quality control of AI-based legal review processes.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in law (ideally with the Second State Examination) or a degree as a business lawyer with relevant professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law.
  • Ideally, professional experience in public procurement law and/or IT law.
  • Interest in a wide range of legal issues as well as economic and technical-scientific contexts.
  • Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
  • The position is also suitable for recent graduates with relevant prior knowledge and experience from internships, study projects or theses.
