About the role
- Develop mathematical models and optimization methods for robust supply chains
- Communicate with clients to gather requirements and develop tailored solutions
- Analyze and model complex planning problems, often as network flow or mixed-integer programming formulations
- Develop, implement, and (via simulation) test innovative algorithmic approaches
- Co-develop software (including user interfaces) for interactive decision support, e.g., a platform for interactive supply chain analysis and optimization
Requirements
- University degree (Master’s or PhD) in (business) mathematics or (business) computer science
- Ideally specialized in discrete mathematics, mathematical programming, combinatorial optimization, operations research, network optimization, or the design of efficient algorithms
- Willingness to apply mathematics in practice and to solve relevant problems for industry and society
- Analytical thinking and the ability to quickly understand and structure complex planning processes
- Independent learning of new domain knowledge, supported and mentored by experienced colleagues
- Initiative, sense of responsibility, and enjoyment in presenting your own ideas within the team and to clients
