About the role

  • Operation, hardening, and further development of the Windows- and Linux-based IT infrastructure with special emphasis on IT and information security
  • Design, operation, and monitoring of security measures (access control, system and endpoint hardening, logging, monitoring)
  • Administration of secure network infrastructures (LAN, WAN, WLAN), including firewall management, network segmentation, and secure integration of external systems
  • Close collaboration with scientific users in the design, deployment, and further development of individual work and development environments within defined IT standards
  • Analysis, root-cause assessment, and sustainable resolution of security-relevant and operational incidents in client, server, and network environments
  • First- and second-level support in a small team with a focus on technical quality, traceability, and secure operations

Requirements

  • Completed degree related to IT infrastructure or completed vocational training as an IT specialist in system integration (Fachinformatiker/in Systemintegration) or comparable technical training with an IT focus
  • Professional experience is an advantage; career starters are welcome
  • Very good technical understanding of IT infrastructure and IT security
  • Willingness to become familiar with an established, heterogeneous IT environment and to actively help shape and implement IT standards
  • Ability to analyze new requirements and translate them into viable, secure technical solutions
  • Structured, independent working style, strong communication skills, and ability to work well in a team
  • Very good German (C2) and good written and spoken English
