About the role
- Investigation of AI methods for digital circuit design
- Analysis of design and layout flows of CMOS silicon digital circuits
- Design of (sub)components of digital circuits with a focus on automated and novel AI-assisted design tools
- Utilization of access to state-of-the-art, CMOS-based IC technologies
Requirements
- Completed university degree (Master's) in electrical engineering, communications engineering, computer science, microsystems engineering, or a comparable field
- Knowledge of the operation of CMOS digital circuits and CMOS implementation technologies
- Initial experience in the digital domain with circuit design of CMOS components (e.g., using VHDL or SystemVerilog)
- Knowledge of the digital design flow from RTL to GDSII is desirable
- Experience with design-flow tools (e.g., Xcelium, Genus, Innovus)
- Experience with scripting languages (especially Python) and AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) is an advantage
- Independent, scientific working style and quick adaptation to new problem areas
- Good English, strong teamwork and communication skills, and an enjoyment of experimental work
