About the role

  • You will work in an interdisciplinary environment on current issues in medical technology research in the field of (partially) automated medical technology, in particular medical robotics.
  • Development and research of methodical approaches for safe automation in a medical technology and physiological context and implementation on the target systems
  • Development of control and automation strategies for various systems and their adaptation to specific medical issues, taking into account the relevant requirements and regulations
  • Developing new approaches for the safe automation of robot-assisted therapy systems and transferring knowledge to various systems and issues
  • Close collaboration with external partners to assess the feasibility of different projects and define research needs as well as to drive forward their practical implementation

Requirements

  • Completed scientific university degree, ideally with a doctorate in the field of technical cybernetics, mechatronics, medical technology or similar
  • Very good knowledge of actuators/sensors/mechatronics as well as control engineering and system theory
  • Enthusiasm for the design and development of complex systems
  • Good handling of the common programming languages and simulation environments Matlab, Simulink, Python, C/C++, C#
  • Knowledge of (medical) robotics, hardware and software development is desirable
  • Strong initiative and commitment
