About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Restock and check Pyxis machines and nursing units, including onsite and offsite units
- Verify medication integrity in Pyxis machines and floor-stock areas
- Deliver filled medication orders and pick up new orders for filling
- Package medications that are not prepackaged and maintain related records
- Assist as a second check for order-entry accuracy
- Prepare and deliver intravenous piggyback admixtures
- Participate in technical and administrative pharmacy functions
- Assist pharmacists with medication-order filling and IV admixtures
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED required
- 1 year of sterile products experience preferred
- 1 year of sterile compounding experience preferred
- 1 year of pharmaceutical/pharmacology experience preferred
- Pharmacy Technician State Certification (PHT) from the State Licensing Board
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification or ExCPT certification required for pharmacy technicians with a pharmacy technician license
- PTCB or ExCPT certification is not applicable for interns
- Pharmacy Intern Permit (PHINTERN) from the State Licensing Board for interns
- Travel is required never or rarely
