About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Practice evidence-based perfusion.
- Exercise safe judgement in decision making.
- Make a difference in the lives of your patients and their families.
- Participation in call rotation with evenings and weekend availability required when on call.
- Evaluate cardiopulmonary status and other relative factors of patients in order to determine appropriate plan.
- Formulate a case plan by identifying pathophysiological problems associated with the patient.
- Adapt to changes in patient’s status and formulates plan of action.
- Document assessments on operative record.
- Communicate assessment with all persons involved in patient’s care.
- Prepare operating room and cardiopulmonary bypass machine for the surgical procedure.
- Develop short- and long-term goals, to provide continuity of patient care.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree Cardiovascular Perfusion Science from an accredited college or university - Required
- Master's Degree Cardiovascular Perfusion Science - Preferred
- 1 year CCP - Preferred
- Current and valid Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) - Required or must be obtained within 1 year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
