About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operates MRI scanners to create 3D images of a patient's body tissues
- Assist in the training of students and technologists in MRI
- Perform injection procedures, including administering gadolinium contrast dosage intravenously
- Maintain optimum timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety during the execution of duties
- Work closely with patients to ensure they have an understanding of MRI procedures
- Collaborate on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure
- Complete all MRI exams and procedures, obtaining optimal images for physician review according to policy and protocol
- Obtain and record patient identification, medical history, or test results
- Obtain and review all history of ferrous implants and other possible contraindication for scanning in a magnetic field
- Perform venous punctures using universal precautions while administering contrast media
- Practice established safety guidelines and use mire safety tools and techniques
- Assume responsibility for self-development
- Clean, maintain, and restock examination and inventory rooms
Requirements
What you’ll need- Preferred Associate's Degree in MRI
- Preferred Certificate in Radiology
- 1 year MRI Experience Preferred
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT-MR) - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- ARRT, ARRT-MR, or ARMIT within 1 year
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
