About the role

  • You process payroll for commercial employees, working students and marginally employed staff (mini-job holders) in compliance with social and payroll tax regulations
  • You maintain personnel master data and personnel files and ensure the entry of all transaction data
  • Recording and maintenance of company pension schemes (betriebliche Altersvorsorge / bAV) are also part of your responsibilities
  • You are responsible for notifications, reporting and certification processes
  • You act as the point of contact for employees on all matters related to payroll
  • You are also the primary contact for authorities, health insurance funds and social security institutions
  • You contribute to and support internal audits as well as external statutory audits

Requirements

  • Completed training as a payroll accountant (m/f/d) or several years of professional experience in payroll accounting, with solid knowledge of payroll tax, employment and social security law
  • Confident handling of complex payroll matters such as occupational pension schemes (bAV), one-off payments, additional payments/allowances, parental leave and maternity protection
  • Understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and collaboration with timekeeping and HR systems
  • Ideally experience in process optimization or working with digital payroll tools (Paisy / ADP)
  • Precise and structured working style — especially during peak periods such as month-end or year-end closings
  • Strong service and solution orientation and the ability to explain complex issues clearly
  • Reliable handling of confidential data and a pronounced sense of responsibility
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently and clearly prioritize tasks
  • Numerical affinity and a good understanding of reporting, analyses and interfaces to Finance
