About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan and deliver rigorous history instruction aligned with TEKS standards
- Teach historical content using narrative instruction, primary sources, and discussion
- Guide students in analyzing historical texts and documents
- Facilitate discussions about historical ideas, political philosophy, and civic institutions
- Assess student learning through essays, document analysis, projects, and exams
- Provide meaningful feedback on written historical analysis
- Maintain strong communication with students and families
- Participate in faculty collaboration and curriculum development
- Use technology effectively to support classical history instruction in a virtual environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in History, Political Science, Humanities, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of Western civilization and American history
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead thoughtful historical discussion
- Texas Teaching Certification (Social Studies 4–8 or 7–12) (preferred)
- Experience teaching classical history curriculum (preferred)
- Experience with primary-source instruction and Socratic dialogue (preferred)
