Intern – Startup Scout, Deal Flow Manager
Founders BayIntern managing startup scouting and deal flow for Founders Bay Accelerator. Engaging with founders and identifying suitable startups in rural areas.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- You find startups that no one else knows yet — in rural areas, away from the usual platforms
- You develop a knack for spotting where exciting founding teams are emerging
- Active research via LinkedIn, local networks, universities, funding programs and events
- Identify suitable startups based on our program criteria
- You will be one of the first faces of Founders Bay for many founders
- You proactively reach out, conduct initial conversations and guide teams through the application process
- First contact and outreach via email, LinkedIn, etc. — including cold outreach
- Conduct initial and qualification calls with founding teams
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant founder communities and local networks
- You organize incoming applications and help keep track — who fits, who doesn’t, and why
- Evaluate and pre-qualify incoming applications according to clear criteria
- Maintain and document records in the CRM (Notion / Airtable)
- Automation — working on it together with us
Requirements
What you’ll need- You are enrolled at a university as a registered student and/or already have initial experience in high-growth startups or other high-performance environments such as strategy consulting, investment banking or venture capital
- You have a strong affinity for impact trends, innovation and technologies
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment in approaching new people — even without a warm introduction
- You like to work independently and are highly results-oriented
- Experience with tools such as Claude, Perplexity, Make / n8n, Notion, Slack
- Affinity for impact topics, innovation and rural areas is a plus
