About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the mechanical engineering execution of medium to large material handling and conveyor projects
- Serve as the primary mechanical engineering technical resource for customers, project teams, vendors, and field personnel
- Review project scope, customer specifications, system designs, and contract requirements
- Conduct system design, 3D model, and constructability reviews; resolve technical and installation issues
- Develop and maintain engineering schedules supporting project milestones and installation timelines
- Manage mechanical engineering deliverables, change orders, material requests, and drawing releases
- Coordinate engineering activities with Project Management, Electrical Engineering, Purchasing, Fabrication, and Field Installation
- Mentor and support Project Engineers and designers through technical guidance and coaching
- Review engineering drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering quality, customer satisfaction, and project execution
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- 6–10 years of material handling or conveyor systems engineering experience
- Experience leading medium to large engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of conveyor systems, mechanical design, and engineering standards
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and project coordination skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment
- Approximately 10% domestic travel based on project needs
