About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Building in Quality Control for Engineering processes and deliverables.
- Develop and implement strategies to maintain and improve the quality of project engineering processes, products, and services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Design and execute comprehensive training programs for project engineering staff to enhance their skills, knowledge, and competencies.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including manuals, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), to support engineering and project execution.
- Ensure that documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to engineers in following established procedures and best practices.
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement and mechanisms to promote mentoring of associates across the Engineering department.
- Support the development and implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of project delivery and engineering processes.
- Analyze data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Generate regular reports and presentations to communicate performance metrics, status updates, and insights to senior management.
- Work closely with engineering teams to develop action plans and initiatives to address performance gaps and optimize processes.
- Create and regularly review and update Parts Library to reflect changes in product designs and manufacturing processes.
- Support engineering by providing expertise, resources, and guidance for a range of engineering software tools, including but not limited to AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, AutoCAD Electrical, Navisworks, ACC, Vault, and custom add-ons tailored to enhance functionality within these platforms.
- Foster effective communication of innovative concepts and serve as a catalyst for driving transformative change within the engineering department.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Engineering Bachelor's degree (or similar engineering program) from an accredited college with 3+ years of relevant experience, or 6+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Material Handling and Conveyor experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively on a team and support high levels of performance
- Strong management and advanced collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal communication)
- Experience with Engineering Software Tools
- Programming skills and experience are expected for automation, reporting, and engineering process support.
- Proficient parametric and horizontal‑style 3D modeling skills are expected to support engineering tools, standards, and libraries.
- Experience working with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience in standard design of relevant material handling equipment for position
- Ability to self-motivate
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job.
