About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- In this key leadership position, you will be responsible for ensuring Qualitrol’s global product compliance with safety and security standards.
- You will work cross-functionally with all facets of the company from Sales & Marketing, with regards to feasibility of markets from a compliance perspective, to R&D as you work on New Product Introduction with engineers, defining compliance requirements, test plans, and overseeing pre-compliance and compliance testing at third party labs, as well as managing sustaining products certification to the latest standards in all applicable markets throughout product lifecycle.
- Direct and drive compliance on all R&D projects, new product introduction and sustaining across multiple continents.
- Work with federal, state, and local governments and customers to define requirements and test products.
- Work as liaison between external regulatory labs, product development group, sales/marketing – tracking timing and driving deliverables.
- Help development engineers interpret standard test methodology to measure the performance of complex systems.
- Define and develop specifications based on required compliance, safety and product security (including cyber security) standards in all applicable countries.
- Drive compliance reviews and updates across the product portfolio.
- Manage product compliance projects and drive deliverables and results.
- Report and communicate effectively at all levels, from executive to individual contributors.
- Organize and prioritize workload with all stakeholders.
- Create project planning, tracking and reporting templates for company use.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years in a role where product compliance with regulatory standards is critical (e.g. CE, UL, CCC, FCC, UKCA).
- Proven success in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, particularly involving external regulatory labs and complex deliverables.
- Hands-on experience managing testing and documentation for product compliance and certifications.
- Demonstrated expertise in ensuring product compliance with cybersecurity standards for critical infrastructure, including but not limited to: NERC, NIST, IEC 62443, CIS, RED, CRA, CIRCIA.
- Forward-thinking approach to emerging compliance requirements and next-generation testing methodologies.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to lead and collaborate across cross-functional teams spanning multiple time zones.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to contribute to a structured, KPI-driven, and continuous improvement organization.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
